Yes, you will. And you’ll probably eat about 10,000 calories the night before because A. “It’s your last chance to enjoy yourself” or B. You are emptying out all the cupboards into your body in hopes of all temptation being out of the house by Monday. (PS. Use the bin instead – your body isn’t a waste bucket)

From there, you’ll probably make it to the weekend, if you’re lucky. Why? Such a drastic turn of events in your body – from 20,000 calories in a weekend to MAYBE 5000 in 5 days is havoc and shock. Your body now thinks “I’m starved” and your biology kicks in. Sugar and fat is more tempting than ever. You can’t control yourself and you start all over again. Back to the 20,000 calorie weekend because, once again, it’s your “last chance” before diet begins Monday. And magically, the cupboards are full of crap food again. Gotta eat it all to avoid the temptation come Monday!!!! ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️

Guess what. If you divide a diet like that over a 7 day period, you’re still consuming 3,600 calories a day. If you workout 5 days a week, you will still be in a high calorie surplus and on track to gain about 1.6kg of fat PER WEEK. 6.4kg PER MONTH.

That is why, in our opinion, “I’ll start Monday” is the worst diet association out there (the other ones listed suck too, by the way). Mentally, you are absolutely devastated because in your head, you ate SO clean Monday through Friday and just can’t seem to understand what you’re doing wrong. Physically, your body is furious with you.

Stay in control. If you are on a low calorie diet, please be aware that it is not sustainable and you will have to reverse out of that at some point. If it’s done slowly and sustainably, it can be accomplished with minimal weight gain.

If you are yo-yoing, STOP. And change NOW. None of this Monday junk. There is absolutely zero reason why Monday has the be this magic day. You have the power to change at any moment, why wait? What is the POINT in waiting? DO IT NOW! ?
