It’s about that time of year! It’s getting cold in Australia and we are heading to our favourite tropical destination to escape the weather. During these times, we tend to kick back, relax and lose track of ourselves.
It’s important to be mindful whether you’re on vacation or you’re at home. Your goals don’t change when you step outside your door. Your health doesn’t change when you fly over an ocean.
Think of this way, if you have 5 cocktails a day for 7 days, that’s 35 cocktails in one week. If your drink of choice is a mojito, that’s about 7600 calories and 455 grams of sugar. 144 teaspoons of sugar in one week JUST from a cocktail 🤮 (and a mojito tends to be on the lower end of calories/sugar as well compared to the others).
To make it worse….. It will take you 30, yes THIRTY, HIIT sessions to burn off those mojitos (assuming you burn 250 cals per 30 min session). If you complete 3 HIIT sessions a week, it will take you 2 and a half months to burn off those cocktails. JUST the week’s worth of cocktails. Not including everything else you’ve consumed in between… EEK ⚠️😱 Read that again and let it sink in!
Make sure you’re aware of what you’re consuming when you’re “relaxing”. Is it really worth it?? 😬
