The problem is.... finding an excuse is MUCH easier than finding solution. And we always want the easy way out, don’t we? We don’t want to take responsibility for our actions, do we? This post will contain a lot of harsh and uncomfortable truths, but we hope you can understand why we’ve decided to articulate this to you. It’s out of love 💕🙏😘
It’s much easier to say “Well my partner eats like crap and doesn’t work out so I have to adapt to his lifestyle.” No you don’t. You’re LOOKING for an excuse, you’re not actively looking for a solution.
It’s very easy to say “I’m too social to clean up my diet” - actually no, everyone is social to an extent, just perhaps not YOUR version of social. You’re not an exception to the rule. We are ALL exposed to temptation ALL THE TIME. You’re making an excuse instead of searching for a solution.
It’s very easy to say “I have a slow metabolism”. Ok, according to who? Have you been locked up in a metabolic chamber and had your BMR assessed? And for the record, the more body weight you carry, the faster your metabolism is, so bigger people can actually diet eating more calories than smaller people.
It’s very easy to say “I have a slow thyroid”. Doesn’t mean it can’t be managed. Two of our fittest and healthiest clients have either had their thyroid completely removed or have been on Thyroxine since they were 14. They could have said “I can’t”, but instead, they have chosen to say “I will.” They found a solution. They also have an incredible attitude to go along with their lifestyle - and there’s definitely something to be said about that.
If you have managed to convince yourself that you are genetically, socially and/or environmentally victimized, take a good honest look at your OWN behaviours. It’s usually a story you’re telling yourself to make yourself feel better, or for someone else to sympathize with and validate your irrationality. If you LOOK for someone to validate your excuses, you will find them. Then you’re really screwed.
Once you can take responsibility for your actions, your habits and your behaviours...... that’s when everything will change.
Once again, this is out of love. Please understand that. If you have a barrier that you are completely convinced you can not navigate, search for help. Get multiple opinions. Get out of your comfort zone. Whatever you do, DO NOT GIVE UP!!! Don’t run to someone who will validate your every word. There’s so many options, and so much help out there. Look for a solution in every single problem ❤️
